When I was at the acupressure yoga event I realized the person using tuning forks on me was actually a practitioner of Biofield Tuning. Kara is the owner of Anahata Healing Arts and is also an absolutely remarkable woman.
I can almost hear you saying, “Wait, What?”
You heard me Biofield Tuning. Getting ones Biofield, tuned. What does that mean? So glad you asked!
When you meet her in person, although I have also had her do a session over the phone and felt just as good afterward as if I’d been in her office, you’ll go to the uppermost floor in a quaint old building which means you have amazing light and a feeling of being completely removed from the hustle and bustle of the lower floors. You’ll come in and sit in a big comfy armchair while she talks to you about what your goal is, what you’re looking to get out of the session, etc. Then you’ll take off your shoes and climb on the table and relax. I took this image from her website because I honestly forget to take a picture every time I go because I’m so excited to get started!

What happens next varies on who you are what you’re doing. Personally, I’m always stuck. No big surprise there…lol So I usually find the pendulum, which she swings to see where my Biofield is in need of the most support, hovering over my throat, also no surprise since any time I’ve had energy work done the practitioner has usually homed in on my throat chakra. As she starts to work she’ll use her tuning forks and start far away on the outer edge of the room and work her way towards me. As you may, or may not, know your energy field expands away from your body from age zero out to today. As she works her way through the years, she’ll ask if something happened when I was 30, which it did, stay there for a while with the tuning forks getting them ever closer to a resonant sound instead of a slightly discordant one that just isn’t vibrating right until she has either fixed what was out of alignment or has added some different tuning forks and crystals to the process and realigned my energy as much as possible.
I know, some of you are thinking…yeah, sure, a tuning fork and some crystals. Riiiight. Think what you will, frankly you would anyway. What I *know* is that she has never been off on an age when she has asked me if something happened and she has never let me leave there feeling anything but remarkably better. You don’t have to believe me, of course, but you should at least try it. I went in the first time thinking, “well, what’s the worst that could happen?” and left knowing I was going back. I had walked in feeling like I had a frog in my throat the size of a bowling ball with a sore back, and some nerve pain from an old accident. I left there feeling like I was gliding on air like a Disney princess heading into a ballroom. No pain, no frustration, and breathing so much easier.
If you are someone who needs more factual information about Biofield Tuning you can read the linked article. If you are someone who needs to know the person offering the treatment then I can’t encourage you to enough to contact Kara through her website linked above. She is not only lovely to talk to but is also a complete professional and will happily answer any questions.
So what did I get out of Biofield Tuning? Another good question. I lost a lot of pain and eased the bowling ball in my throat down to a tiny pebble. I also found a deep sense of awe that Eileen McKusick, the woman who discovered/developed Biofield Tuning was able to find and then refine a system for ‘hearing’ where your energy was blocked and finding a way to get it realigned so it no longer is a block but rather a regular part of your energy field.
I’m less concerned with the science than I am with the outcome, and for the last year I’ve been about a half dozen times and all I can say is I sleep better, I feel better, and my outlook on life is better. To me, that’s all the proof I need.
So what came next?…an art therapy event I’ll never forget.
I have never had a Biotuning session but I did read one of Eileen McKusick’s books on Biotuning. So, next thing I did, was go out get me some forks! I have two Tuning Forks, one in the frequency of C 256 hz and the other in G which is 384 hz. They are called the perfect fifth. I use my C tuning fork around my heart chakra and my G fork around my Root, sacral and solar plexus chakras. Yes, C note is normally used for the Root Chakra and it goes up from there, but I like Dr. Jeffrey Thompson’s explanation of using G note for Root – he is a scientist that has proven that the frequencies of chakras match up to the musical notes starting with G and Root. Anyway, it’s all very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
