No, seriously, don’t. I understand that *I* did, but that was a total mistake on my part. I thought, ‘I’ve been trying all kinds of things in no particular order, why not get some structure going on?’ So I joined a ‘craft a month’ club. This is my first month and I can honestly say being sent four napkins and some twine and glue and a bag of wooden beads so I could make napkin rings was disappointing to say the least.
Clearly I love trying new things, but napkin rings? How is that a craft? I mean, I guess it technically is since you make them and they aren’t already assembled, but getting the supplies for napkin rings just took the wind out of my sails.
Napkin rings?
Oh well, I’m going to do it anyway because I believe in finishing what you start, but I am not thrilled. It feels more like I’m being stubborn instead of creative.
With that said, what is making me feel creative lately is my writing. I just published a story on Vocal and I’d love it if you’d go check it out (totally free). Or, if you want to hear more about how I write or get an advanced peek at my next unpublished story, or even if you want me to write a story just for you, you can find all of that at my Patreon. I’d love to see you there!
I’ll come back and share the new napkin rings after I make them. Fingers crossed they don’t turn out to be a total mess and I have to eat my words about it being too simple…or maybe that’s the point. I’m trying not to overthink this, but is it possible my issue with finding a hobby or something I enjoy is that I’ve been trying to find things off a list of stuff that is too hard? Maybe crafts are supposed to be easy? I don’t know. If you have an opinion, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
